Job Summary:

The Clinical Director is responsible for overseeing the clinical operations and performance of the organization. This leadership role ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered dental care while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and clinical standards. The Clinical Director works closely with dentists, hygienists, assistants, and administrative staff to drive operational efficiency, foster professional development, and implement best practices across our dental offices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and clinical oversight to dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, and support staff
     
  • Develop, implement, and monitor clinical protocols, procedures, and quality standards to ensure excellence in patient care
     
  • Ensure all dental services are compliant with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., OSHA, CDC, HIPAA, state dental board)
     
  • Support provider recruitment, credentialing, onboarding, and ongoing professional development
     
  • Monitor clinical performance through audits, peer reviews, and patient feedback; implement quality improvement initiatives
     
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align dental operations with organizational goals and budgets
     
  • Oversee infection control procedures and ensure compliance with sterilization and safety standards
     
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to dental providers, offering guidance on complex cases and clinical decision-making
     
  • Participate in strategic planning and service expansion initiatives (e.g., mobile units, specialty care)
     
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, patient satisfaction, and interdepartmental collaboration
Qualifications

Education:

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited institution

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of clinical dental experience, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership or supervisory role

Skills:

  • Strong clinical judgment and up-to-date knowledge of dental procedures and technologies

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to lead quality improvement projects and analyze clinical performance data
