Assistant Manager at Pizza Shop

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Shop Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting daily operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within our shop environment. This position is perfect for individuals with a passion for food service, catering, and customer interaction and one with pizza store experience.

Responsibilities

• Be fully familiar with operating deck ovens, preparing pizzas, and overseeing the kitchen operations.
• Step into different roles as needed, including sandwich maker, counter staff, or pizza maker, ensuring smooth daily operations.
• Monitor food prep and ensure consistency in the quality and presentation of dishes.
• Ensure that all employees follow safety and health standards, and adhere to food preparation guidelines.
• Provide excellent customer service and manage customer relations, including resolving complaints and ensuring positive dining experiences.
• Ensure that customer orders are fulfilled accurately and delivered in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the kitchen, dining area, and restrooms.
• Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies to maintain stock levels.
• Control food waste and ensure that all ingredients are stored properly to minimize spoilage.
• Assist in managing store budgets and achieving sales and profitability goals.
• Monitor operational costs, including food and labor costs, and work to minimize waste while maintaining high-quality standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a kitchen or foodservice management role (pizza shop or similar environment preferred).
• ServSafe Manager Certification required (or willingness to obtain within a designated time frame).
• Proficient in operating deck ovens and understanding pizza-making processes.
• Ability to work in multiple positions, including pizza preparation, sandwich making, and front-counter service.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment, especially during peak hours.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food quality.
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
