Barista

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Barista to join our vibrant café team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop your skills in food and beverage preparation while providing an exceptional experience for our customers. Prior barista or food service experience is preferred, along with familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks according to company standards
• Operate POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
• Ensure food safety and proper food handling procedures are followed at all times
• Maintain cleanliness of the café, including cleaning equipment, counters, and seating areas
• Manage cash register operations accurately, including cashiering and retail math calculations
• Assist customers with menu selections, answer questions about products, and provide excellent customer service
• Restock supplies as needed and assist with food preparation when required
• Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for staff and customers
• Handle transactions efficiently while managing time effectively during busy periods

Skills

• Proven experience as a Barista or in food service; coffee experience is highly desirable
• Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and sales transactions
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
• Ability to perform food preparation tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in serving beverages and managing cashier responsibilities
• Familiarity with the food industry, café operations, and retail math concepts
