This position will serve Lake County. Join us as we expand a host of new programs and services for our Northwest Indiana communities. You will collaborate with fellow tobacco grant coordinators and community partners to reduce tobacco use rates throughout the area.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 8am - 4:30pm
- Acts as the primary/lead agent in operating and administering the entire grant, build the tobacco coalition and provide supervision to the assistant coordinator and coalition members as needed. Through community outreach and education will be responsible for describing and conveying the key messages of the ITPF grant, the effects of tobacco and its economic and health impacts on the community and discuss the current state of the ITPF priority areas and indicators and how they may apply to the local community to achieve local goals.
- Responsible for executing all required deliverables, on time, as required by the grant to the following: Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), grant supervisor and coalition members and others as necessary.
- The Program Coordinator is responsible to increase the effectiveness of the Coalition in advocacy for local and state policy changes, promotion of the risks of e-cigarettes, inclusion of priority populations and implementation of the Breathe education program.
- Develop and maintain employee work schedules, vacation schedules and other requests for time off assuring adequate office coverage. Assist with interviewing process and selection of new employees. Coordinate training of new employees in the program. Provide input into the evaluation of employees. Provide input/recommendations for matters in relation to employee problems and disciplinary action.
- Communicate monthly with grant supervisor and lead fiscal agent on the progress, goals and deadlines of the program, submit periodic electronic reports as required to fulfill grantee obligation and maintain data bases including the Indiana Preferred Network list.
- Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and all required mandatory program(s). The Program Coordinator is required to meet all health and organizational educational requirements in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Marketing or related area - Required
- 8 years of experience in Public Health, Marketing or related area - Required
- 2 years of experience within Lake County Communities - Required
- 2 years of experience with Media, Policy Advocacy and/or Political Campaigns - Preferred
- Comfortable with public speaking and community engagement - Required
- Demonstrated experience building partnerships, fostering collaboration, and strengthening relationships on behalf of the ministry and the community - Preferred
- Experience working with grants, including implementation, coordination, or reporting - Preferred
