Electrical Distribution Designer

A leading provider of engineering, procurement, and construction services is seeking a skilled  Electrical Distribution Drafter to lead and mentor a team of engineers and drafters supporting projects in the electric utility sector. • Supervise and mentor a team of distribution engineers and CAD drafters.

• Oversee the preparation of engineering designs, drawings, and redlines for overhead and underground electric distribution systems.

• Manage project schedules, workloads, and priorities to meet client and internal deadlines.

• Provide technical guidance and quality assurance on all engineering deliverables.

• Ensure compliance with drafting standards, utility requirements, and safety regulations.

• Collaborate with project managers and field personnel to ensure successful project execution.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and support the development of engineering standards.

• Conduct performance evaluations and support team development through training and coaching.

• 5+ years of experience in electrical distribution engineering, with 2+ years in a supervisory or team lead role.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD or AUD; ability to code routines within AutoCAD is a strong plus.

• Working knowledge of utility standards, civil drafting practices, and utility mapping systems.

• Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and engineering software tools.
