Data & Integration Architect Lead

Location: Dallas, TX or Akron, OH (Hybrid)

POSITION SUMMARY :

We are seeking a Data & Integration Architect Lead to guide the Enterprise Services Integration (ESI) architecture practice. This role will be approximately 50% hands-on technical contribution (solution design, data modeling, schema governance) and 50% management (mentoring and leading Integration Architects).

The ideal candidate brings deep experience designing enterprise-scale, high-performance data integration systems on cloud, with expertise in serverless and event-driven architectures (preferably on AWS technologies such as Lambda, SNS, SQS, API Gateway, EventBridge, DynamoDB, Fargate, CloudWatch, etc). This role owns the definition and governance of canonical data objects and provides leadership for integration patterns, and ensuring solutions are consistent, reusable, and aligned with enterprise strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Architecture & Data Leadership (50%)

  • Define and maintain canonical data models and JSON schemas for enterprise entities (e.g., Customer, Invoice, Employee, Sales).
  • Govern schema lifecycle (versioning, validation, deprecation) to support long-term enterprise use.
  • Architect integration solutions leveraging AWS services, focusing on serverless, event-driven, and asynchronous messaging patterns.
  • Design for scale, resiliency, performance, and security across enterprise workloads.
  • Oversee source-to-canonical transformations and canonical-to-consumer mappings.
  • Partner with business SMEs, Integration Architects, and Dev Leads to align payload semantics with business meaning.

Team Leadership & Management (50%)

  • Manage and mentor Integration Architects, providing coaching, technical guidance, and career development.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, and reusable design assets under the PDLC framework.
  • Serve as escalation point for architectural conflicts, ensuring resolution aligns with enterprise strategy.
  • Drive alignment across architecture, development, QA, and support teams for seamless delivery.
  • Represent ESI architecture in design reviews, governance forums, and enterprise data initiatives.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS :

  • 15+ years in software engineering or relevant IT experience
  • 5+ years in enterprise integration and data architecture, with 3–5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience designing large-scale, high-performance data integration systems on AWS.
  • Strong background in canonical data modeling, schema governance, and lifecycle management.
  • Deep knowledge of integration patterns: synchronous, asynchronous, pub/sub, and event-driven.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on design with leadership and mentorship.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to influence across business and technical teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • Hands-on expertise with AWS services: Lambda, SNS, SQS, API Gateway, EventBridge, DynamoDB, Fargate, CloudWatch.
  • Experience with Agentic AI or AI-driven integration (e.g., using LLMs for schema validation, design analysis, developer enablement).
  • Familiarity with AI orchestration frameworks (LangChain, CrewAI) and their application in enterprise integration workflows.
  • Experience with enterprise-scale API management and microservices design.
  • Familiarity with hybrid integration (cloud-to-on-prem, multi-cloud).
  • Knowledge of resiliency and performance patterns for distributed systems.
  • Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD practices (coordination, not direct coding).

BENEFITS & PERKS:

  • Competitive healthcare, dental & vision insurance
  • 401(k) matching after one year of employment
  • Generous time off + company holidays
  • Merchandise discount
  • Learning & Development programs
  • Much more
