We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Columbus, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and processing outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Your duties will include documenting shipments, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining shipping records. This position is crucial for the timely and correct delivery of our products to customers. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Verify shipping information against orders to ensure correctness.
- Generate shipping labels and necessary documentation.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pick-ups and deliveries.
- Maintain organized shipping records and logs.
- Operate shipping equipment, including scanners and scales.
- Ensure all packages are properly packaged and labeled for transit.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory counts and receiving as needed.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external carriers.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar warehouse/logistics role.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and online carrier platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of shipping and receiving logistics.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Willingness to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE.
Working Conditions:
This role is primarily based in a warehouse office and shipping area, requiring periods of standing and walking. You will be exposed to warehouse conditions, which may include temperature variations. Safety is a priority, and adherence to all safety protocols and the use of designated PPE are mandatory to ensure a secure and efficient work experience within our logistics operations.
