We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Atlanta, Georgia. This role is crucial to our daily operations, ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining accurate inventory records related to outbound goods. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to workplace safety. Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare and process all outgoing shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, and customs forms.
- Verify that all items are correctly picked and packed according to customer orders and shipping specifications.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, LTL carriers).
- Conduct quality checks on outgoing packages to ensure proper packaging and labeling.
- Maintain organized shipping areas and ensure inventory accuracy through diligent record-keeping.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, sales teams, and customer service to resolve any shipping-related issues.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of required PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, including occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant logistics and transportation regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role is preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier portals.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and occasional lifting.
