Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate shipping labels, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation.
- Verify outgoing orders against packing lists to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries, managing logistics efficiently.
- Inspect outgoing packages for damage or discrepancies before shipment.
- Maintain organized shipping records and files for easy retrieval.
- Communicate with internal departments and external carriers regarding shipment status.
- Operate shipping equipment such as pallet jacks and scanners.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with loading and unloading of trucks when necessary.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics department through proactive task management.
- Support the team with various administrative and operational tasks related to shipping and logistics.
- While not primary, some lifting up to 30 lbs may be required during ship dock operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or administrative roles is preferred.
- Proficiency in using computers, shipping software, and office equipment.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with shipping regulations and best practices in logistics.
- Understanding of safety procedures and the necessity of PPE.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to handle administrative duties and light physical tasks related to shipping.
