We are searching for a skilled Forklift Operator to join our busy logistics hub in Raleigh, North Carolina. This position is critical for the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. The ideal candidate will possess excellent operating skills, a strong commitment to safety, and a thorough understanding of warehouse operations. You will be responsible for handling a variety of materials and ensuring their proper placement and retrieval.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, load, unload, and stack materials.
- Perform pre-operation checks on forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and other items within the warehouse and distribution center.
- Assist with receiving and shipping operations as needed.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through proper movement and scanning of goods.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Identify and report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and work collaboratively with other team members.
- Must be able to handle lifting of items up to 70 lbs on occasion.
- Ensure a clean and organized work area, free from obstructions.
- Understand and contribute to the overall logistics and workflow of the warehouse.
- Follow all established safety protocols to ensure a secure environment.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts and other warehouse support activities.
- Demonstrate efficiency and precision in all forklift operations.
- Safely load and unload trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing of loads.
Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience. High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is required. Ability to read and interpret product labels and shipping documents. Strong understanding of warehouse safety regulations and the importance of PPE. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical demands, including lifting. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. Reliability and punctuality are essential.
