Our Durham, North Carolina facility is seeking a meticulous Receiving Clerk to manage incoming shipments. This role is critical for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring that all goods are properly accounted for upon arrival. You will be responsible for unloading trucks, verifying packing slips, inspecting goods for damage, and accurately entering data into our inventory system. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming freight from trucks.
- Verify quantities and descriptions of goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect all incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies.
- Accurately record received goods into the inventory management system.
- Label and stage received items for distribution or storage.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with basic warehouse tasks, which may include some Lifting of items up to 30 lbs.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments regarding receiving issues.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving or inventory control role is preferred.
- Proficiency with computer systems, including inventory management software.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, and occasional Lifting .
- Willingness to wear required PPE at all times.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic understanding of logistics and warehouse operations.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety .
