We are hiring an experienced Forklift Operator for our facility in Des Moines, Iowa. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, load, unload, stack, and retrieve materials within the warehouse. This role is integral to our logistics operations, requiring precision, efficiency, and a steadfast commitment to safety. You will ensure that inventory is managed effectively and that materials are transferred promptly to their designated locations.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to transport materials.
- Load and unload products from trailers and into racking systems.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklift equipment, ensuring safe operation and reporting maintenance needs.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company guidelines, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory control by accurately tracking the movement of goods.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Work collaboratively with other warehouse personnel to achieve operational goals.
- Support the receiving and shipping departments as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified and experienced forklift operator.
- Demonstrated ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices in logistics.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
