We are seeking a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in San Diego, California. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all incoming goods into our distribution center. You will be responsible for inspecting deliveries, verifying shipment contents against purchase orders, and documenting all received items. Maintaining a safe and organized receiving area is also a key responsibility. A strong understanding of logistics processes, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety are essential. The ideal candidate will be proficient in using scanning equipment and possess the ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting. We require all employees to adhere to safety guidelines and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Your diligence in this role directly impacts inventory accuracy and the overall efficiency of our supply chain. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from vendors and carriers.
- Inspect all deliveries for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Verify incoming goods against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system using scanners.
- Tag and label all received products appropriately.
- Organize and maintain the receiving area to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
- Identify and report any discrepancies or damages to the appropriate supervisor.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Assist with putting away received goods into their designated storage locations.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy in all receiving tasks.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or a related warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using scanning equipment and basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain operations.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions:
- Warehouse environment involving movement of goods.
- May require standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
- Must comply with all safety regulations and wear designated PPE.
