We are actively seeking a skilled Reach Truck Operator to join our logistics team in Washington, D.C. This is a key role within our distribution center, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of reach trucks to manage inventory at elevated heights. Your duties will include moving, stacking, and retrieving products with precision and care, ensuring accurate stock rotation and optimal warehouse space utilization. A strong emphasis is placed on adhering to all safety regulations, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and employing proper lifting and maneuvering techniques. The ideal candidate is experienced, safety-conscious, and possesses excellent equipment operation skills. You must be adept at working in a dynamic warehouse environment and capable of contributing to the overall efficiency of our logistics operations. This position requires reliability and a proactive approach to maintaining warehouse order and integrity. Your role is integral to the seamless flow of goods and maintaining high standards of operational excellence within our logistics network.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a reach truck to move, stack, and retrieve pallets and materials.
- Perform pre-operational checks on the reach truck to ensure safety and functionality.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by correctly positioning stock and updating systems.
- Adhere strictly to all warehouse safety rules and company policies, including the mandated use of PPE.
- Practice safe lifting and material handling techniques to prevent injuries.
- Organize warehouse storage areas to maximize space and accessibility.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to meet operational goals.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating a reach truck.
- Valid certification for reach truck operation is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift and move items, typically up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse safety protocols and the importance of PPE.
- Strong understanding of material handling principles and logistics operations.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial judgment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
Working Conditions:
