*Position Summary*
Modoc Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Retail Pharmacy Manager in Alturas, CA. Under the direction of the CNO and Pharmaceutical Services Director, the Retail Pharmacy Manager is responsible for overseeing all areas of retail pharmaceutical services for MMC, including the procurement, distribution, storage, and dispensing of medications by appropriate staff. This role ensures pharmacy operations remain compliant with all state and federal laws and regulations, supports quality assurance and controlled substance procedures, maintains accurate pharmacy records and inventory controls, and provides a high level of service to patients and pharmacy customers through safe, efficient, and professional pharmacy practices.
*Essential Responsibilities*
* Compound and dispense prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals for patient care
* Review prescriptions for accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed
* Direct pharmacy staff engaged in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals
* Provide customer counseling on medication use, interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage (if accepted)
* Maintain procedures for quality assurance, controlled substance security, and hazardous waste disposal
* Enter and maintain pharmacy records including patient data, inventory, charges, and medication costs
* Instruct interns and pharmacy personnel and ensure staffing ratios comply with state/federal law
* Maintain awareness of third-party Rx systems and resolve rejection problems promptly
* Report prescription errors immediately and follow MMC policy regarding medication incidents
* Support loss prevention controls and maintain consistency of pharmacy policies and procedures
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with physicians and other healthcare professionals
* Maintain continuing education and stay current on pharmacy laws, regulations, and programs
*Minimum Qualifications*
* Licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of California
* Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an ACPE-accredited college of Pharmacy
* Current BLS Certification
* Meets requirements as set forth by federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing retail pharmaceutical services
* Maintains required annual continuing education hours relative to pharmacist practice
* Ability to work with others at all levels within the organization and collaborate effectively
* Above-average interpersonal, problem-solving, and written and oral communication skills
*Preferred Qualifications*
* Retail pharmacy leadership or management experience highly preferred

* Sign-On Bonus for Full-Time Hires: $5000 paid during the full pay period following the 90th day of employment, $5000 paid after the completion of 1 year of employment, $5000 paid after the completion of 2 years of employment
