We are looking for a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our busy logistics center in San Jose, California. This role is vital for the accurate and efficient intake of all incoming goods. You will be responsible for unloading deliveries, verifying contents against purchase orders, inspecting for damage, and properly documenting all received items. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from trucks and other vehicles.
- Verify the quantity and quality of received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect incoming materials for any damage or discrepancies.
- Accurately document all received items in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Label and stage received goods for internal distribution or put-away.
- Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other receiving equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Communicate any issues or discrepancies to supervisors promptly.
- Assist with inventory control tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Receiving Clerk or in a similar warehouse/logistics role.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using computers and data entry for inventory tracking.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and basic logistics.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Willingness to follow all safety regulations and wear required PPE.
Working Conditions:
This role requires physical stamina, including standing, walking, and lifting. The work is performed in a warehouse receiving area, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels. Safety is paramount; you will be expected to use all necessary PPE and strictly follow established safety protocols to ensure a secure and productive experience within our logistics operations.
