We are looking for a skilled Material Handler to manage all aspects of our warehouse materials in Nashville, Tennessee. This role is vital to ensuring the smooth flow of goods within our logistics operations. The Material Handler will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of raw materials, components, and finished products throughout the facility. This includes operating various types of material handling equipment and maintaining accurate inventory records. We seek individuals with a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and teamwork. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
- Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy through proper storage and record-keeping.
- Ensure all materials are properly identified, labeled, and stored.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on material handling equipment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Participate in cycle counts and physical inventory checks.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or equipment malfunctions.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or similar role.
- Valid forklift certification is required.
- Experience operating various types of material handling equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, up to 60 pounds regularly.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and practices in a warehouse environment.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to PPE requirements.
Working Conditions:
The Material Handler role involves significant physical activity, including prolonged periods of standing, walking, and operating machinery. Work may occur in various environmental conditions. A strong focus on safety is paramount; all employees are required to use designated PPE and follow all safety guidelines to ensure a secure working environment.
