We are seeking an organized and proactive Warehouse Coordinator to manage our bustling logistics operations in New York City, New York. This key role oversees the daily flow of goods, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and safety throughout the warehouse. You will be responsible for coordinating receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping activities, as well as managing inventory levels and optimizing space utilization. Strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a thorough understanding of warehouse management systems and logistics are essential. You will work closely with a dedicated team, providing guidance and support to ensure all operations meet our high standards. Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate all daily warehouse activities, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Manage inventory levels, conduct regular cycle counts, and investigate discrepancies to maintain accuracy.
- Ensure efficient space utilization within the warehouse, optimizing layout and storage.
- Supervise and train warehouse staff, providing guidance and support.
- Implement and enforce all safety regulations and company policies, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Maintain equipment and ensure all warehouse machinery is in good working order.
- Liaise with suppliers, carriers, and other departments to ensure smooth logistics operations.
- Generate reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and logistics efficiency.
- Manage the allocation and use of resources, including labor and equipment.
- Ensure the proper use and maintenance of PPE by all staff.
- Assist with challenging lifting tasks as needed, demonstrating a hands-on approach to logistics.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse and logistics processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Coordinator or in a similar supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and logistics software.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with inventory management and control techniques.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in a warehouse setting, including PPE requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Must be capable of performing physical tasks, including lifting up to 40 lbs, and overseeing operations that involve significant lifting.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting for logistics optimization.
