We are hiring a skilled Forklift Operator to join our busy warehouse team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role is essential for the efficient movement of goods within our logistics facility. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials. Your expertise ensures that our inventory is managed effectively and that our logistics operations run smoothly and on schedule. A strong commitment to safety, precision in operation, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are key requirements. You will be an integral part of our supply chain, contributing directly to our ability to meet delivery commitments. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement of goods.
- Stack and retrieve inventory efficiently and accurately.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any issues or necessary maintenance.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area, ensuring clear pathways for operations.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse tasks as needed to support logistics.
- Understand and follow loading and unloading procedures to optimize logistics flow.
- Handle the physical demands of the role, which may include some lifting of items up to 40 lbs.
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to ensure seamless warehouse operations.
- Operate in compliance with all site-specific safety protocols and logistics best practices.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of forklift safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on forklifts.
- Physical ability to climb on and off equipment, and perform some manual lifting as required.
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong commitment to safety.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic logistics setting.
- Must be proficient in wearing and utilizing required PPE.
- Understanding of general warehouse operations and logistics principles.
