Our busy distribution center in Madison, Wisconsin is looking for a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to manage outgoing shipments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, processing, and documenting all outbound goods, ensuring they meet carrier requirements and customer expectations. This role is critical to our Logistics chain, ensuring timely and accurate delivery. You will work closely with warehouse staff and transportation providers to coordinate the movement of products. A keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills are paramount. Experience with shipping software and documentation is highly desirable. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively is essential. This position offers a stable work environment and opportunities for growth within our company. Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels, packing slips, and other necessary documentation.
- Verify order accuracy before shipment.
- Coordinate with carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Ensure all shipments comply with company and carrier regulations.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and track shipments.
- Communicate with customers regarding shipping status and potential delays.
- Operate shipping software and equipment.
- Assist with loading and unloading of trucks as needed.
- Adhere to all Safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
- Contribute to the efficiency of our Logistics department.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar role. Familiarity with shipping procedures and documentation. Proficiency in using computers and shipping software. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent communication abilities. Ability to perform basic Lifting tasks as required. Must be committed to workplace Safety. Must be eligible to work in the United States.
