As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing inventory counts, investigating discrepancies, managing stock levels, and implementing procedures to minimize loss and optimize warehouse efficiency. Your role is central to our logistics operations, ensuring that we have accurate data to support our fulfillment and distribution processes. A strong focus on workplace safety is essential, including the proper use of PPE and adherence to all safety protocols when navigating the warehouse. While this role may involve some physical tasks, including occasional lifting , the primary focus is on accuracy, analysis, and process management. Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies through root cause analysis.
- Monitor and manage stock levels to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Track the movement of goods within the warehouse and update inventory records accordingly.
- Identify and report slow-moving or obsolete stock.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory to maximize space utilization and minimize damage.
- Assist in developing and implementing inventory control strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures, including the appropriate use of PPE .
- Generate reports on inventory accuracy, turnover, and other key metrics.
- Collaborate with warehouse, purchasing, and operations teams to resolve inventory-related issues.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., WMS, ERP systems).
- Good understanding of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Familiarity with safety procedures in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to perform occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
- Organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
