We are seeking a certified Forklift Operator to join our logistics hub in Provo, Utah. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods throughout our warehouse. Your primary duties will involve operating forklifts to load and unload trucks, move inventory, and transport materials to designated areas. A strong commitment to safety is paramount; you must adhere to all company policies, utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and practice safe lifting and operating techniques at all times. The ideal candidate is experienced, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent equipment handling skills. You should be comfortable working in a dynamic warehouse environment and be able to collaborate effectively with the rest of the logistics team. We prioritize a secure and productive workplace, and your vigilance in maintaining safety standards is crucial. This position requires reliability and a proactive approach to ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our distribution center. Your contribution is essential to our overall logistics success.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, stack, and unstack palletized loads.
- Load and unload trailers and containers with accuracy and care.
- Transport materials to and from various locations within the warehouse.
- Perform daily pre-shift equipment inspections and report any issues promptly.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock placement.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Strictly adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE.
- Employ safe lifting techniques and proper material handling procedures.
- Identify and report any damaged goods or equipment malfunctions.
- Support the overall logistics flow of the distribution center.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a forklift operator.
- Valid forklift operator certification is required.
- Ability to lift and move objects, typically up to 60 lbs.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Good communication skills.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Warehouse environment involving operation of heavy machinery.
- May require working in various temperature conditions.
- Must adhere to all safety regulations and wear required PPE.
