This role is vital for the efficient and safe handling of materials within our distribution center. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for skillfully operating forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve inventory, load and unload trucks, and support various warehouse functions. A strong commitment to safety is paramount; you must adhere to all company policies, OSHA regulations, and use appropriate PPE at all times. This position requires proven forklift operating skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of warehouse logistics. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts to transport materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload shipments from trucks and trailers efficiently.
- Move, stack, and retrieve inventory in designated racking systems.
- Assist with order picking, put-away, and replenishment tasks.
- Perform daily inspections of forklift equipment and report any defects or required maintenance.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Strictly follow all safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE.
- Participate in inventory control activities as directed.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure seamless logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety standards and material handling practices.
- Familiarity with logistics operations and inventory management.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform other manual tasks as needed.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and situational awareness.
- A strong commitment to safety and the use of PPE.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet performance metrics.
