A great opportunity for an experienced Solar Design Engineer to support the development, design, and delivery of solar PV projects across commercial, industrial, and public‑sector environments. You’ll work on feasibility studies, system design, technical analysis, and provide engineering support through installation and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
Produce solar PV designs, layouts, and equipment specifications
Support feasibility studies, yield assessments, and technical modelling
Provide technical input during procurement, installation, and commissioning
Attend technical reviews, HAZOPs, and site visits
Review contractor designs & ensure compliance with standards and regulations
Prepare technical proposals, bids, and supporting documentation
Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and risk management
Stay up to date with new technologies and industry developments
About You
Strong engineering background (electrical preferred)
Experience designing solar PV systems using t PVSyst, PVCase, AutoCAD
Good understanding of PV components, configurations, and installation types
Knowledge of BS7671, IET CoP, MCS standards, and relevant regulations
Experience with Excel and PV modelling for yield/self‑consumption analysis
Battery storage knowledge is a bonus
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
Confident communicator, ability to work with internal & external stakeholders
Full UK driving licence
