B’s Beacon (Bar and Bistro) is located within the historic, fully renovated, Hope Hotel overlooking majestic Lake Pend Oreille. Just 20 minutes’ scenic drive south-east of Sandpoint, will bring you to our door. The introduction of this high quality, well serviced restaurant in this central landmark location will return the property to the prominence it once enjoyed in history.
We have assembled a capable, loyal, and dedicated staff, each member bringing a reputation for quality customer service and a commitment to providing warm hospitality to our guests.
We proudly serve only the freshest cuisine with ingredients procured from local farmers, gardeners and foragers to ensure “farm-to-table” goodness. Locally raised angus beef, locally caught fish, fresh seafood and savory pastas are featured daily.
The Restaurant is open 6 days a week year-round, with the exception of January.

Are you a Sous Chef looking for new job opportunities? We are looking for an ambitious, passionate and driven Sous Chef to help oversee the restaurant with our Head Chef. You will lead a team of food specialists and ensure that our food maintains the highest quality. We hope you are ready to bring in some new and delicious changes to our kitchen and delight our guests!
*Sous Chef duties and responsibilities*
A Sous Chef’s job duties and responsibilities include the following:
· Be the main assistant to our Head Chef
· Design menus that enhance customers’ culinary experience while keeping up high quality.
· Submit cost proposals for menu items.
· Create and test new menus.
· Provide feedback regarding the food quality of large bulk purchases.
· Ensure that all food preparation is in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
· Design standardized food presentation guidelines for each dish.
· Monitor inventory levels of commonly used items.
· Look for ways to reduce spoilage of infrequently used items.
· Hire, train, and mange staff regularly.
*Sous Chef requirements and qualifications*
A Sous Chef’s job requirements and qualifications include the following:
* Ability to track expenses and manage Inventory.
* Licensure from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), or other certifying agency.
* Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success
* Team player
* Good time-management skills
* Great interpersonal and communication skills
* Strong passion for the art of food design.
* Culinary Degree or equivalent experience preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
Shift:
* 10 hour shift
* 12 hour shift
* 8 hour shift
* Day shift
* Evening shift
* Morning shift
Supplemental Pay:
* Bonus opportunities
