We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain the accuracy of our warehouse inventory in Richmond, Virginia. This pivotal role ensures that our stock levels are precise, minimizing discrepancies and optimizing stock rotation. You will be responsible for implementing and monitoring inventory control procedures, conducting regular cycle counts, and investigating discrepancies. Your expertise will be crucial to maintaining efficient logistics and preventing stockouts or overstock situations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Monitor stock levels and reorder points, ensuring adequate supply while minimizing excess inventory.
- Track the movement of inventory within the warehouse using inventory management systems.
- Manage and reconcile inventory adjustments, transfers, and returns.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast needs, and recommend improvements.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of inventory to maintain quality and prevent damage.
- Collaborate with the operations team to align inventory strategies with logistics and fulfillment goals.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including the use of appropriate PPE for tasks involving potential hazards.
- Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform lifting and physical tasks as required, up to 30 pounds.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
