We are seeking a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Indianapolis. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for ensuring all outgoing shipments are accurate, properly packaged, and dispatched efficiently. This role is crucial for maintaining the smooth flow of our supply chain and ensuring customer satisfaction. You will work closely with our warehouse operations to prepare goods for shipment, verify order details, and maintain shipping records. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick, pack, and label orders for shipment.
- Verify shipping documentation against orders to ensure accuracy.
- Operate shipping software to generate labels and track shipments.
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and manage outgoing freight.
- Conduct quality checks on outgoing packages to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Assist with inventory counts as needed.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding shipment status.
- Demonstrate proficiency in basic computer operations and data entry.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a related warehouse role is a plus.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier platforms.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift, and move packages (up to 50 lbs).
- Commitment to workplace safety and the proper use of PPE.
