We are looking for a dedicated Picker/Packer to join our dynamic warehouse team in Kansas City, Missouri. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately retrieving items from inventory and preparing them for shipment. Your attention to detail and efficiency are crucial for ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining the smooth operation of our logistics department. You will work in a fast-paced environment, handling a variety of products and utilizing warehouse equipment. A strong commitment to safety, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is a must. This position offers a great opportunity to be part of a growing logistics network and contribute to our success.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick products from warehouse shelves based on customer orders.
- Pack items securely and efficiently for shipment, ensuring product protection.
- Verify order accuracy, checking item codes, quantities, and product condition.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area according to company standards.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including mandatory PPE usage.
- Meet or exceed productivity standards for picking and packing.
- Assist with inventory control tasks, including cycle counts.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or safety concerns to supervision promptly.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient order fulfillment and smooth logistics operations.
- Handle products with care to prevent damage during the picking and packing process.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.
Previous experience as a Picker/Packer or in a similar warehouse role is preferred but not required. Must be able to perform moderate to heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs). Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and a dedication to maintaining a safe work environment. Familiarity with logistics operations is beneficial. Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the US. Excellent work ethic, reliability, and punctuality are essential. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment. Good communication skills. Must be comfortable working in a warehouse setting with varying temperatures. A proactive attitude towards learning and improving processes is encouraged.
