We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Order Picker to join our dynamic logistics team in Baltimore, Maryland. As an Order Picker, you will be responsible for accurately fulfilling customer orders by retrieving items from warehouse shelves. This role is crucial to our supply chain operations, ensuring timely and correct shipments. You will work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing various warehouse equipment to locate and pick products. A strong commitment to safety protocols is essential, as is the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Your attention to detail will directly impact customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick products based on order tickets, ensuring correct item and quantity.
- Operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment to navigate and retrieve items.
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Perform regular checks on equipment to ensure functionality and report any issues.
- Assist with inventory management tasks as needed.
- Meet or exceed picking performance standards.
- Understand and follow directions from supervisors and team leads.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team atmosphere.
- Handle products with care to prevent damage.
- Report any discrepancies or issues with orders immediately.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned to support the logistics operations.
Previous experience in a warehouse or order picking role is preferred but not required. Must be able to perform moderate to heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs). Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Basic reading and math skills. Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus. Must be at least 18 years of age. A commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all guidelines is mandatory. Excellent stamina and a strong work ethic are highly valued in this demanding role. Understanding of logistics and inventory principles is beneficial. Must be comfortable working in a warehouse setting with varying temperatures. Dependability and punctuality are key requirements for success in this position. Good communication skills are necessary for interacting with colleagues and supervisors. Must be authorized to work in the United States.
