We are actively seeking a skilled and certified Forklift Operator to join our robust logistics team in St. Louis, Missouri. In this critical role, you will be responsible for operating a forklift to move, stack, and retrieve materials throughout our warehouse, ensuring the smooth flow of goods. The ideal candidate will possess a valid forklift certification, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to operate equipment with precision and efficiency. This position is vital for maintaining operational efficiency and supporting our logistics network. Safety is paramount, and adherence to all company safety regulations and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory. This role requires vigilance, excellent spatial awareness, and the ability to perform tasks that involve lifting and maneuvering heavy items. Experience in high-volume logistics environments is highly desirable. Operate with confidence and contribute to our success!
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, stack, and unstack palletized materials.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Conduct daily pre-shift inspections of forklift equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring clear aisles and safety zones.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately to management.
- Assist with inventory management tasks and cycle counts as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Perform tasks that involve lifting and maneuvering materials, often weighing several hundred pounds with the forklift.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial reasoning skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and possessing a strong work ethic.
- Physical ability to perform required duties, including occasional lifting of smaller items.
- Commitment to adhering to all safety regulations and wearing PPE.
- Familiarity with general logistics and supply chain operations is a plus.
