Join our fast-paced logistics team as a Shipping Clerk in Atlanta, Georgia! We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented individual to manage the outgoing shipment process efficiently and accurately. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for preparing, labeling, and staging shipments, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring all documentation is complete. This role is essential for the smooth flow of goods out of our distribution center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment.
- Generate shipping labels and manifests using our shipping software.
- Verify shipment contents against order documentation for accuracy.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, freight).
- Load and unload delivery trucks as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Ensure all shipments comply with carrier regulations and company policies.
- Utilize warehouse equipment safely, including pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external partners regarding shipping status.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of required PPE, and practice safe lifting techniques.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software and order management systems is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Capability of lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE.
