Are you an organized and efficient individual seeking a Shipping Clerk position in Indianapolis, Indiana? We are hiring for a role that is critical to the smooth operation of our logistics department. You will be responsible for managing all outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation. This position requires a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational abilities, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. You will work closely with our warehouse staff and transportation partners to facilitate seamless deliveries.
Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare all outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Verify order details against shipping manifests and product contents.
- Generate shipping labels, packing slips, and other required documentation.
- Package products securely for shipment to prevent damage during transit.
- Coordinate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and track deliveries.
- Maintain organized records of all shipments and related documentation.
- Ensure the shipping area is clean, orderly, and safe.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with loading and unloading of freight when necessary, involving moderate Lifting.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of our logistics operations through effective communication and collaboration.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in shipping, logistics, or a related warehouse role is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with shipping software (e.g., FedEx, UPS, LTL systems) and MS Office Suite.
- Exceptional organizational skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to perform tasks involving moderate Lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and supply chain principles.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and the importance of using PPE.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
