Join our vibrant logistics team in Atlanta, Georgia as a Shipping Clerk. This role is essential for ensuring that orders are accurately and efficiently prepared for dispatch to our customers. You will be responsible for verifying shipment contents, preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring all outbound goods meet quality standards before leaving our facility. We are looking for detail-oriented individuals who are committed to accuracy and possess excellent organizational skills. This position offers a dynamic work environment where your contributions directly impact customer satisfaction. A strong emphasis is placed on Safety, and all employees are required to use provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Responsibilities:
- Verify outgoing shipments against sales orders and pick tickets for accuracy.
- Prepare and organize shipping labels, packing slips, and bills of lading.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup schedules and tracking information.
- Inspect packages for damage or discrepancies before dispatch.
- Operate shipping equipment such as pallet jacks and shrink wrap machines.
- Ensure all outbound shipments are properly loaded onto transport vehicles.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update the inventory management system.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse associates, supervisors, and carriers.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized shipping area.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and data entry.
- Familiarity with shipping software and warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to perform tasks including occasional Lifting of up to 30 pounds.
- Understanding of shipping documentation and logistics processes.
- Commitment to upholding high Safety standards in the workplace.
