Position Summary:
The Regional Director provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for activities within an assigned territory. This role ensures compliant, ethical, and efficient field operations that support NovaNata's mission of procuring high-quality human birth tissue for transplantation.
During the initial growth phase, this role reports to the Chief Executive Officer. As NovaNata scales, the reporting structure transitions to the Vice President of Operations.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operational Oversight
- Manage, motivate, and support employees to achieve productivity and operational excellence.
- Foster professionalism, accountability, and ethical conduct.
- Ensure division activities meet performance targets.
Staff Management
- Recruitment, hiring, coaching, retraining, corrective action, and separations.
- Conduct performance evaluations and one-on-one coaching.
- Maintain adequate staffing levels across regional sites.
Training & Professional Development
- Partner with HR and Quality for onboarding and competency validation.
- Support continuing education for regulatory and clinical competencies.
- Ensure staff maintain credentials and annual training compliance.
Quality, Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Ensure compliance with FDA (21 CFR 1271), AATB, HIPAA, and NovaNata policies.
- Verify adherence to QA procedures including temperature monitoring and cleaning protocols.
- Support audits, corrective actions, and QA improvement initiatives.
Communication & Collaboration
- Maintain communication with NovaNata leadership and internal departments.
- Identify operational issues and improvement opportunities.
- Provide routine feedback related to hospital engagement, logistics, and compliance.
Relationship Management
- Maintain collaborative relationships with hospital and clinical partners.
- Support outreach, education, and problem resolution related to donation programs.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Leadership in healthcare or regulated environments.
- Understanding of compliance, safety, and quality standards.
- Strong relationship-building skills.
- Operational planning and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multi-site operations.
Preferred Experience
- Healthcare operations, tissue banking, or biologics experience.
- Familiarity with FDA 21 CFR 1271, HIPAA, and AATB.
- Leadership of remote/field-based teams.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree required (Healthcare, Nursing, Life Sciences, Business, or related field preferred).
- Master's Degree preferred but not required.
Work Environment
Regional travel and onsite presence at hospitals and clinical facilities are required. Rotating call coverage may be necessary for donation activity and clinical operations.
Compensation
Base salary range: $75,000 to $95,000 annually, plus bonus potential up to $5,000 per year. Health benefits included. Paid time off, travel reimbursement, and robust professional development provided.
