Position:
Rockefeller Capital Management is seeking a proactive, seasoned tax professional to join as a Relationship Manager on our Fiduciary Tax Team. The tax compliance work (return preparation) is done by an outside provider. The Relationship Manager will be accountable for timely delivery of all tax-related deliverables (including form 1041) to the Rockefeller Trust Company Trust Officer, Trustees, Beneficiaries, Financial Advisors or other related parties. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise in trust taxation, strong communication and project management skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively manage all tax related matters for 750 trusts in close partnership with the outside tax preparer, Trust Officers, Financial Advisors
- Serve as escalation point for outside tax preparer to resolve any situations preventing timely delivery of any tax related deliverables such as returns, estimated tax payments, etc.
- Collaborate with Trust Officers, Financial Advisors, and external tax counsel to ensure tax strategies align with client goals.
- Coordination with Trust Officers, Financial Advisors, and external tax counsel to proactively gather, validate, and deliver all necessary data (e.g., third party 1099s, alternative investment Schedule K-1s, etc.).
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state fiduciary tax regulations and communicate relevant changes to internal stakeholders.
- Develop and implement comprehensive internal processes for key procedures, (e.g., trust terminations) ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
- Experience with trust accounting systems and briging to ONESOURCE Trust Tax software, ideally experience working with Fi-Tech systems.
