About the Role

Street Cart Bagels is seeking a Prep Chef to lead afternoon and evening production during closed hours. This role is critical to the success of our morning service and requires someone who is organized, reliable, and comfortable working independently.

You will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and organizing all core sandwich components for the next day, as well as mixing bagel dough for the following morning's bake.

Key Responsibilities

• Mix, portion, label, and pack house-made cream cheeses and fish salads
• Cook, cool, and organize sandwich proteins (eggs, bacon, sausage, etc.)
• Prepare and portion house sauces and spreads
• Execute full sandwich prep for next-day service, following production lists
• Mix bagel dough according to house formulas for next-day baking
• Properly label, date, and store all prepared items
• Maintain a clean, organized prep kitchen at end of shift
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and temperature-control standards
• Communicate prep status clearly to baking and sandwich teams

Qualifications

• Professional kitchen or production prep experience preferred
• Comfortable working independently during closed hours
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to follow recipes and production specs precisely
• Understanding of basic food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Reliable, punctual, and consistent
