Job Description
We are seeking a Human Resources Assistant who will play a pivotal role in supporting our HR department. This role involves addressing frequently asked questions from applicants and employees regarding standard policies, benefits, and hiring processes, while referring more complex inquiries to high level HR. The position requires maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of HR files and records, as well as performing audits to ensure all required documents are collected and filed. Additionally, the assistant will help plan and execute special events such as employee recognition events and holiday parties.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the recruitment process by placing ads, conducting bg checks, and onboarding new staff.
- Support HR department members with administrative tasks, including maintaining and creating personnel files and assembling new hire, orientation, benefit, and termination packets.
- Perform transactional data entry into the HRIS system, complete employment verifications, and track employee licensures and certificates.
- Provide excellent customer service to employees by answering questions, providing proper forms, and explaining policies and procedures.
- Track and report employee data, including turnover, new hire and termination counts, benefit eligibility, status changes, and performance evaluation tracking.
- Support other HR projects and perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- 1+ year of HR administrative experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, upbeat personality.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities with a sense of urgency.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or associate degree in human resources or a related field of study is preferred.
- Experience with HR systems and benefits administration.
- Driving is required; candidates must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Enfield, CT.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $ $27.00/hr.
