EFDA Responsibilities/Skills:
- Exceptional Punctuality and Reliability: Consistently arrive on time and ready to provide support in a fast-paced dental environment.
- Expanded Clinical Duties: Perform EFDA duties such as placing and contouring restorations, taking impressions, applying sealants, and fabricating temporary crowns, in accordance with state regulations.
- Effective Multitasking: Manage multiple tasks such as assisting with procedures, preparing treatment rooms, and ensuring smooth patient flow throughout the office.
- Adaptability and Willingness to Learn: Stay updated on the latest dental technologies, techniques, and state regulations for EFDA practice. Adapt to new procedures and office protocols as needed.
- Receptiveness to Feedback: Continuously improve skills through constructive feedback from dentists and other team members, and seek opportunities for professional growth.
- Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Provide excellent patient care by clearly explaining procedures, post-treatment instructions, and oral hygiene best practices.
- Assist with Patient Exams and Procedures: Support the dentist during exams, restorative treatments, and other expanded duties, ensuring patient comfort throughout.
- Sterilization and Preparation of Instruments: Ensure all instruments are sterilized and prepared efficiently for procedures, maintaining compliance with infection control standards.
- Manage Patient Records and Appointment Scheduling: Accurately document patient information and assist with scheduling follow-up appointments, ensuring a smooth patient experience.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-procedure care, and preventive treatments to enhance their overall dental health.
- Maintain a Clean and Organized Work Environment: Keep the treatment rooms, equipment, and common areas clean, well-organized, and fully stocked.
- Manage and Track Lab Cases: Oversee lab cases, ensuring timely submission, receipt, and follow-up on restorations and appliances.
- Office Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all office equipment and dental tools are properly maintained, cleaned, and functioning at optimal levels.
Qualifications:
X-ray license required
Expanded Functions Dental Assistant license required
Valid CPR and other necessary certifications
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Office 365 and Microsoft Office.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with digital record-keeping systems.
Proficiency in using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software for dental procedures
Experience with OpenDental, XDR and Sidexis
Knowledge of dental coding and billing procedures
Familiarity with dental records management and HIPAA regulations
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Ability to effectively communicate with patients of all ages and backgrounds
Working Hours:
Full time position with hours to be discussed. No weekend hours required. Some evening availability for patient appointments.
