The Lead Operations & Engineering Integration role serves as a technical and operational bridge between Engineering and Manufacturing for GB2 aircraft programs. This position supports production execution, maintenance activities, and engineering-driven change by translating high-level technical and operational objectives into actionable, shop-floor execution. The role works under the direction of the Director of Operations and Engineering Manager while providing day-to-day leadership, coordination, and problem-solving across composites, CNC operations, bodywork and paint, final assembly, production control, and maintenance activities. A successful Lead in this role demonstrates strong technical judgment, hands-on leadership, and the ability to drive execution while maintaining quality, compliance, and schedule commitments.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Support production and maintenance execution for GB2 aircraft by coordinating daily workflow across manufacturing and support departments.
  • Act as a primary point of coordination between Engineering and Production to ensure design intent, technical requirements, and build standards are clearly understood and executed.
  • Validate production and maintenance work against engineering drawings, specifications, and approved technical data.
  • Support development, maintenance, and adherence to production schedules, ensuring alignment with operational priorities.
  • Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing and maintenance issues, applying root cause analysis and corrective actions in coordination with Engineering and Operations leadership.
  • Support maintenance activities including inspections, repairs, preventative maintenance, and documentation in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Assist with development, review, and continuous improvement of technical documentation including Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalogs (IPC/AIPC), and standard work instructions.
  • Provide real-time technical feedback from the shop floor to Engineering to improve manufacturability, maintainability, and design robustness.
  • Use ERP and production tracking systems to support material availability, work order execution, and schedule visibility.
  • Support inventory control, kitting, staging, and material flow to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Lead and support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and cost control.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to technicians and junior leads, reinforcing standard practices, quality expectations, and safety requirements.
  • Create and communicate status updates, metrics, and issue tracking related to production, maintenance, and engineering support activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • 7 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, aviation maintenance, or engineering support roles.
  • Demonstrated experience working with engineering drawings, technical documentation, and production specifications.
  • Hands-on experience supporting aircraft production or maintenance in a regulated environment.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems and production control processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills applied to real-world manufacturing and maintenance challenges.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate work across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting composite aircraft manufacturing or maintenance.
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
  • Prior experience in a lead, senior technician, or engineering liaison role.
  • Familiarity with certification, compliance, or regulated aerospace environments.
