Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements, ensuring a smooth flow of service.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, and relay orders efficiently to kitchen staff.
- Provide detailed menu descriptions, upsell specials, and recommend wine or beverage pairings to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are upheld during food handling, serving, and clearing tables.
- Manage guest relations by addressing questions, resolving concerns quickly, and creating a positive dining experience.
- Assist with bussing tables, resetting stations, and supporting kitchen staff during busy periods to maintain seamless service flow.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, perform basic math calculations for bills, and process payments via cashiering systems like OpenTable or other POS platforms.
- Maintain cleanliness of service areas, including table setups, dining rooms, and bar spaces in accordance with sanitation guidelines.
- Support the team with food preparation tasks when needed and uphold food industry standards for quality and safety.
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality roles such as server, host/host, or bartender is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key
- Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS enhances efficiency but training will be provided.
- Experience working in fine dining environments or nightclubs is a plus; strong knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and food safety protocols is highly valued.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tables efficiently through excellent time management skills.
- Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on guest relations, upselling techniques, and creating memorable experiences.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and transaction processing are essential.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations including bussing, food preparation support, and sanitation practices will set you apart.
