Duties

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
• Assist with menu planning and ingredient sourcing to ensure freshness and quality
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety protocols
• Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods
• Support catering events and special functions as needed
• Serve dishes efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management
• Uphold all health and safety regulations related to food handling and kitchen operations

Experience

• Previous experience in a restaurant or culinary setting, preferably in fine dining or catering environments
• Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques
• Knowledge of food industry standards, including food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
• Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food service operations
• Dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus but not required
• Familiarity with food preparation for special dietary needs is advantageous
• Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
