Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Assist with menu planning and ingredient sourcing to ensure freshness and quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety protocols
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods
- Support catering events and special functions as needed
- Serve dishes efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management
- Uphold all health and safety regulations related to food handling and kitchen operations
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or culinary setting, preferably in fine dining or catering environments
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food industry standards, including food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food service operations
- Dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus but not required
- Familiarity with food preparation for special dietary needs is advantageous
- Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
