Duties

  • Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure their comfort and dignity.
  • Monitor patient health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; report any concerns promptly.
  • Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces.
  • Observe and document changes in residents' conditions or behaviors; communicate updates to healthcare professionals or family members as appropriate.
  • Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts safely to assist with mobility and prevent injury during transfers.

Skills

  • Proven experience in home care, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes with a focus on senior or disability care.
  • Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's and memory care), and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism.
  • Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance training, and experience in medication administration are highly valued.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids like Hoyer lifts while maintaining resident safety.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams, residents, and families.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow care plans meticulously while adapting to individual needs.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $12.00 per hour
