About Amba

Amba helps senior living operators deliver proactive, high-quality care with fewer resources. We equip stretched care teams with real-time insights, automated workflows, and resident-level visibility — helping operators reduce hospitalizations, improve outcomes, and support their staff.

Overview

We are seeking a dependable, self-motivated Service Technician to join our team to configure, support, and service innovative resident safety and security systems in senior living communities. This role combines remote technical support and configuration, and on-site troubleshooting of a sensor-based platform that enhances safety and quality of life for residents.

The ideal candidate is a technically skilled problem-solver who enjoys helping others, can communicate clearly with non-technical users, and is comfortable working independently.

This role combines on-site and virtual (home-based) work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide remote technical support via phone, email, and online tools to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues.
  • Perform on-site service visits to diagnose, repair, or replace system components as needed.
  • Hold a stock of replacement parts at home, configuring and shipping them upon request.
  • Install and configure resident safety systems, including passive sensors and gateways, according to site specifications.
  • Provide on-site supervision and direction to subcontractors during installation projects or service visits.
  • Verify proper system operation and perform functional testing before project or ticket completion.
  • Maintain clear and detailed documentation of service tickets, site visits, and customer interactions.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, facility staff, and internal teams to ensure timely issue resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage inventory, tools, and company-provided equipment responsibly.
  • Travel to customer sites up to 75% of the time (overnight travel required).

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–3 years of experience as a technical support representative, installer or service technician for any system combining hardware and software.
  • Strong computer literacy and ability to work with web-based platforms, configuration tools, and mobile apps.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide clear, patient, and effective technical support via phone and email.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and customer service skills.
  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and using standard hand tools and ladders.
  • Experience working in senior living or healthcare environments is an asset.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel regionally and nationally as needed.
  • Interior space for secure equipment storage.

Benefits

  • Laptop and home office equipment if needed (monitor, desk, etc.)
  • 401(k) with immediate eligibility and 100% match on the first 4%
