Safety Coordinator

Implement and manage safety programs and procedures that will reduce injuries and their associated costs, as well as meet all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

YOUR IMPACT
  • Conduct safety audits of facilities to pinpoint unsafe working conditions, behaviors and practices and develop sound recommendations for corrections
  • Investigate injury reports and follow-up to ensure corrective action is taken
  • Maintain all required documentation for Oshkosh Corporation's DOT program
  • Coordinate industrial hygiene testing and implement corrective action, if required
  • Oversee safety-related training that is required to remain in compliance with all applicable regulation
  • Update management on the status of Oshkosh's safety program through monthly and quarterly reports
  • Strengthen and lead the Company's ergonomics program
  • Coordinate the services of insurance carriers and outside consulting personnel
  • Organize, plan, and steer the Safety Representative Program to ensure that Oshkosh employees are provided with a safe workplace
  • Work closely with our Health Services Manager on worker's compensation concerns
  • Maintain an active role on our Safety Implementation Team
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, engineering, etc., on the design and construction of new equipment, facilities and processes to insure safe design
  • Develop and recommend general accident prevention programs to include specific protective procedures and devices
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Internship experience
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS
  • Work experience in industry
  • Must be knowledgeable with applicable safety regulations.
  • Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Must possess computer skill
