Position Title: Chamber Coordinator

Organization: Cameron Chamber of Commerce

Employment Type: Part-Time (some evenings/weekends required)

Location: Cameron, Texas

The Cameron Chamber of Commerce is seeking a highly motivated, community-minded professional to lead and coordinate the Chamber's operations, support local businesses, and foster economic growth throughout Cameron and Milam County. This individual will serve as the primary staff leader responsible for membership development, event coordination, communication, and strategic support for the Board of Directors.

This role is ideal for an energetic, relationship-driven individual who excels in organization, communication, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of the Chamber office and serve as primary point of contact for members and partners.

  • Recruit, retain, and support Chamber members through outreach, programs, and business engagement.

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute Chamber events, including the Steak, Stein & Wine Festival, annual banquet, networking events, and seasonal community events.

  • Manage Chamber finances, including budgeting, Payroll, AP/AR, financial reporting, and grant applications.

  • Oversee Chamber marketing, communications, newsletters, social media, and website updates.

  • Represent the Chamber at public events, City Council, the Economic Development Board, and community meetings.

  • Collaborate closely with committees, volunteers, partner organizations, and local businesses.

Preferred Skills

  • 3–5+ years of experience in business administration, nonprofit/chamber work, event planning, marketing, or community development.

  • Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and QuickBooks.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and QuickBooks (preferred).

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and operate independently.

  • Residency in Milam County and a valid driver's license required.
