Warehouse and Shipping Associate

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic warehouse and shipping associate to join our team. This role is essential in providing exceptional service to our clients and ensuring their needs are met efficiently by picking, sorting and shipping the correct items. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a keen ability to analyze customer inquiries, and an attention to detail for stock, orders and anything else that a customer might need. A large part of this position is being in charge of receiving orders from suppliers and adding them to inventory and ensuring that iinventory is correct and put away with organization

The Bikesmiths has been local to Milwaukee since 1981. We are looking for a motivated and passionate individual to join our warehouse team to ensrue that items get shipped fast and in a cost effective manner.

Duties

• Manage all inbound shipments, including scheduling deliveries and coordinating dock activities.
• Inspect shipments for damage, discrepancies, or missing items; report issues promptly.
• Verify packing lists, purchase orders, and invoices to ensure accuracy.
• Receive inventory from suppliers into our management software.
• Ensure proper documentation of all received goods in the warehouse management system
• Oversee the unloading, sorting, labeling, and proper storage of incoming materials.
• Work closely with the Inventory or Purchasing team to resolve quantity or product issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free receiving area.
• Safely package and ship products to customers.
• Re-stock inventory when low.
• Managing inventory and ensuring stock levels are correct.
• Assist in receiving and putting away purchase orders.
• Perform data entry tasks with attention to detail, ensuring accurate record-keeping and documentation.
• Analyze customer issues to provide effective solutions and escalate complex problems when necessary.
• Help to clean the warehouse, shipping area, etc. when necessary.
• Work with internal departments to meet customer's needs.
• Unload delivered packages from delivery truck.
• Maintain a positive attitude while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Be able to lift up to 50lbs.

Experience

• Previous experience in a team working environment and or shipping/warehouse roles.
• Familiarity with office operations is advantageous.
• Experience in a small-warehouse environment with cross-functional responsibilities.
• Strong data entry skills with proficiency in using computer systems for managing information.
• Familiar with shipping software is ideal although not required.
• Ability to analyze situations quickly and provide appropriate solutions to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, changing environment.
