Summary: The Conformal Coating Operator is responsible for executing various manufacturing processes in support of product flow within the Conformal Coating Department by applying various coatings to spooled and unspooled substrate to the specified criteria contained in the work order.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Hours for this position: 4 days at 12 hours per shift, starting at 3:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
- Sets up, operators, monitors, tears down and maintains the equipment in the Conformal Coating Department. With training, must be able to evaluate products/processes and make necessary adjustments to optimize quality and output.
- Satisfies documentation, labeling, inspection and QAD transaction requirements as well as regulatory requirements of established manufacturing processes.
- Monitors material and supply levels and communicates the need to re-order as required in anticipation of future operations. Balances inventory and returns unused materials upon completion of each work order to the designated area and completes line clearance.
- Articulates and communicates issues and problems, as well as offers ideas for improvements, to the appropriate people to minimize down time. Strives to meet organizational and departmental goals.
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
- Able to read/write/understand English. Ability to read, write, and interpret all PPC documents including safety rules, operational instructions, procedure manuals, and SDS sheets.
- Able to read and understand technical drawings, schematics, and measuring equipment.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals as well as measure in English and metric measurements.
- Ability to effectively use and/or learn Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, as well as PPC's computer software for quality and production.
- Able to perform several tasks concurrently.
- Mechanical aptitude to operate and troubleshoot machinery.
- Regular and predictable "physical presence" on-site attendance is an essential job function
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with conformal coating, plastics or medical device manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of quality management systems.
- Lean manufacturing or six sigma experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel).
- Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use hands to input, handle or feel, use of arms to reach, able to hear and talk.
- Must possess fine hand motor skills to handle small manufacturing tools, QC tools and fine product. Ability to raise arms above shoulder height.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
- Required to stand/walk for majority of an 8-hour work shift and lift/push/pull up to 50lbs repeatedly throughout work shift.
- Must be able to use hand tools including but not limited to scissors, pliers, razor blades, wire snips.
