About This Role:

Workplace Arrangements

This role will follow a hybrid remote/onsite schedule. Applicants for this role can expect to work on-site from our Distribution Centres in Brockville and Johnstown, Ontario 2-3 days / week, and will occasionally work out of our Ottawa Head Office, on Walkley Road.

Purpose: Giant Tiger's food products will meet all food safety procedures required to ensure safe storage and handling at our DC's.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Implement and maintain food safety procedures at the DC's as outlined in the HACCP program 

• Implement and maintain the Safe Food For Canadians Regulations license in compliance with regulations 

• Implement corrective / preventative actions for deviations from the HACCP program

• Coordinate recall and complaint activities for products stored at the Brockville and Johnstown warehouses

• Deliver effective standard operating procedures for use in training of DC personnel

What You'll Bring

• Degree or Diploma in related field (Food & Safety, Biology, Health & Safety, Chemistry)

• 2+ years experience working in retail, manufacturing or distribution centre food safety or quality assurance

• Strong understanding of HACCP programs

• Strong understanding of SFCR, CFIA protocols and Health Canada Regulations

• Ability to develop and maintain SOPs

• Excellent analytical, judgement and problem solving

• Experience liaising with CFIA

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
