Job Summary

Job Duties Include

• Ensuring a clean and safe building by sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning, emptying garbage and ensuring entrances/exits are clear of snow.
• Ensures the security of the building by locking exterior doors as required.
• Consulting with staff to ensure that the meeting rooms and/or permit set up is appropriate. 
• performs room set-up and take down of tables and chairs for meetings and assists staff during meetings
• Minor building related equipment repairs.
• Problem solving and repairing minor issues.
• Responding to customer and staff concerns.
• Answering general inquiries and assisting members of the public, providing wayfinding and monitoring building access. 
• Take appropriate action in case of emergency – fire, medical disturbances and inform the appropriate staff, fill out accident/incident forms as required.
• Securing the building using access control software. 
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Skills

• Minimum High School diploma
• One (1) year of related experience in general building maintenance, cleaning, equipment repair, and customer service.
• Current certification in CPR/AED (Level C) and Emergency First Aid.
• Excellent customer Service skills
• Working at heights and lift certification would be an asset
• Valid WHIMIS certification
• Must be willing/able to do physically demanding work as required (light cleaning, lifting, dragging, carrying boxes, etc.)
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Valid class G Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract
• Ability to provide upon hire a current criminal record check that is satisfactory to the Town.

What is Offered to Staff

• Compensation : We offer competitive pay that reflects the responsibilities of the position.
• Hours of Work : This is a non-union position that works 24 hours per week.   The hours of work are Monday to Friday from 3:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., however, due to operational needs, these hours may be extended.  The incumbent will be required to work some weekends and holidays.
