Roller Operator

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Roller Operator to join our Paving team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy compaction equipment to ensure the proper density and stability of various surfaces. This role requires a strong understanding of paving processes, safety protocols, and the operation of heavy machinery. The Roller Operator plays a vital part in delivering high-quality paving and groundwork projects.

Duties

• Operate vibratory rollers and other compaction equipment to compact asphalt, gravel, soil, and other materials according to project specifications.
• Conduct pre-operation inspections on equipment to ensure safety and proper functioning.
• Adjust machine settings as needed for different materials and project requirements.
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate material placement and surface preparation.
• Monitor work area for safety hazards and adhere to all safety regulations during operation.

• Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance and reporting any mechanical issues promptly.

• Skills

• Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
• Experience with construction sites
• Proficiency in operating loaders, excavators, or other related machinery is a plus.
• Knowledge of commercial driving regulations is advantageous for transporting equipment or materials between sites.
• Strong understanding of construction safety standards and protocols.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Job Type: Seasonal
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $25.00-$31.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week

Work Location: In person
